Those were days when aeroplanes did not fly
Nor did bullet trains or buses ply
Boats or barges in water and on land a bullock cart
For cars or choppers were not part
Of people’s daily life; though once in ancient ages
When the world sheltered learned sages
They described chariots that even flew
But some point of time into thin air they all blew
That man had to wait till some one invented wheel
To achieve sophistication and a sublime feel
About new vehicles that hit the road, air and water
That made place to place transportation smarter
Motor runs a dinghy in water, a dump truck on land
In its development even Euclid had a hand
We know an engine pulled a train on rail
Like everything else had an evolution trail
Started its journey slowly on steam
But innovations augmented humanity’s dream
For faster means changed driving power
Electric trains & metroseased the traffic hour
Now the government on electric buses is mulling
Promising hopes for the pollution lulling
Freighters in land, sea and air ferry cargo and goods
Fishing boats have boosted fishermen’s livelihoods
Four door cars are modern on the ground
Funicular trains serve on hill side mound
Gliders aided by air-dynamics have an elegant glide
Gondola lifts have sturdy cables to slide
Each in its way helping to scale heights
Sometimes even the common man to visit sites
Beyond his reach when a God chooses to reside
On a mountain summit and wills a man to decide
On a trip of pilgrimage to appease a yearning soul
A divine calling that helps him to reach his goal
Hover craft, helicopters serve the military power
And so did the hydrofoils during the war the world over
A hydroplane is a fast powered motor boat
But over the poles the iceboats remain afloat!
The jet carved its niche as an epoch that set the stage
Shrinking and conquering distance for the new jet age
Jeepsassociate with the tough and mighty men or road
Ketch is a water transport with sails on board
Kayak may be small but has a name in sport
Life boats and rafts are a life support
Lorry is ugly and has a tough streak
But a limousine is smooth and sleek
Motor cycles on road speed to congest
Monorails may be an answer that would best
Address the growing traffic concerns
A narrow boat negotiates best canal turns
Ocean liners are as majestic as the sea
If one on a summer day wants to flee
The scorching land a pedal boat fills the bill
Flying a plane is a pilot’s thrill
The feeling also applies to a racing car
Escape gravity height is no bar
Rockets and space ships are next generation
To step from moon to Mars human creation
Ships and submarines trade in war
Trams are antique but trains reach far
Rich and poor alike, taxies are for hire
To escape public transport mire
U boatis German, U short for under sea
Used when the whole world was in a fighting spree,
Vans down to earth ply on the roads,
Wagons in railways carry loads
Yacht is a rich man’s pleasure boat
Zeppelins are crafts and in the air afloat
A to Z one around the world covers
In eighty days or eighteen hours
